Everyday I awake I know I am Black, a Woman, and a part of the LGBT community. No matter what I do I always seem to have an obstacle. I don’t let that stop me though, I use it as motivation to be better and strive for the goals I have set for myself.
There is no avoiding what’s so evident around me, challenge.
Challenges for minorities have been at the forefront for my country as of lately, and if I’m being totally honest for decades. Everywhere I turn, the news and media broadcast the hate, bloodshed, and disappointment.
Although we have come a distance I know we have more to go. When something of the past like the archival footage of the civil rights movement, becomes so relevant, I think it deserves more light shed upon it.
