Police can lie. Even in high profile cases.

On December 4, 1969, Chicago Black Panther leader Fred Hampton & fellow member Mark Clark were gunned down in the middle of the night by Chicago Police.

Police initially said it was a gunfight, with the Panthers shooting first…but the following investigation found that Police actually fired 99 shots, to the Panthers 1.

It was later found inside COINTELPRO, an illegal counter-intel program by J Edgar Hoover‘s FBI, wanted the Panthers (and other Black-led organizations) to end…by any means.

President Richard Nixon supported the FBI throughout all this…

Police brutality against black is a well known self proclaimed thing though I cannot say the officers were wrong but afraid of their lives
